Overview

The Free Throw World Challenge (henceforth, the “Event”) is an open participation event organized by The Titan Athletics Co., in which all participants attempt a basketball free throw during the scheduled event window on June 20, 2026. We are trying to smash the world record for most simultaneous free throws!

Eligibility for Participation

Anyone around the world may participate in this open event, unless participation is prohibited by an individual’s local laws.

Participants under the age of 18 years should participate with parent/guardian permission and supervision.

This Event is not intended for children under the age of 13 years without the direct permission and supervision of a parent/legal guardian. Children under the age of 13 years may not submit their information to join the Event. Parents/legal guardians should submit on their behalf. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more details.

How to Participate

  1. Sign up on the Event registration form at the bottom of the Event page on our site, linked here.
  2. Download ShotBuddy Lite beta version from our Event page, or from this link to Apple Testflight, if you’re on iOS. By the way, you can find information on and a demo of our app on the Event page, too!
    • Spend a practice session getting familiar with ShotBuddy’s simple gesture controls, so you’re ready for the big day.
  3. Choose a location with a basketball hoop you can use, be it at the gym, your school, the park, or your driveway!
  4. At the official Event time, attempt one (1) free throw!

As an added bonus, record a video or take a photo of your attempt and share it with your friends to prove your participation in the attempt at the world record for the largest simultaneous free throw! Be sure to review the Media Consent section on this page beforehand.

What is the definition of a free throw?

This is super important, so if you’re new to the court, let us help you out!

A “free throw,” for the purposes of this Event, if a basketball shot taken from a standard free throw line on a regulation court. If you don’t have access to a regulation court, you may approximate a free-throw distance suitable to your location.

We strongly encourage all participants to follow the rules and safety guidelines of the facilities they choose to use!

Event Time & Time Zones

The official Event time and/or participation window will be announced on the Event page and/or via email to registered participants in the Event. Participants are responsible for converting the official time we provide to their local time zone as needed.

Safety Rules

We strongly encourage all participants to adhere to the following safety rules:

  • Follow all applicable facility, school, park, and/or local rules.
  • Warm up appropriately and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or other symptoms that point to you not feeling your best.
  • Use proper footwear and a safe playing surface.
  • Children under the age of 13 years should be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

Participants assume all risk for their participation in the Event, as well as all training activities.
